1st Thesis Prize of the GDR Robotics of the CNRS

Congratulations to Martin Brossard, 1st Thesis Prize ex aequo of GdR Robotique (Robotics research group created by the CNRS and bringing together more than 1200 members) for his thesis entitled “Deep learning, inertial measurements units, and odometry: some modern prototyping techniques for navigation based on multi-sensor fusion », defended on September 22, 2020 at Mines Paris – PSL.

The jury particularly praised the originality and excellence of his work, valued by rank A publications and software developments in open source.
The educational quality of the manuscript as well as its missions of scientific mediation at the Palais de la Découverte were also very much appreciated.

Currently an R&D SLAM/computer vision engineer at Arcturus Industries (Madrid, Spain), Martin Brossard completed his thesis at Robotics Center (CAOR), under the direction of Silvère Bonnabel, himself recently distinguished with the European Control Award, and Axel Barrau (associate researcher at CAOR).
